His main research activity is on the field of Plant Molecular Biology were he carries research on molecular mechanisms involved in plant development and on plant genomics. He has published more that 180 articles in refereed journals and 250 articles on science vulgarisation in newspapers and magazines. He has participated in research projects funded by public Spanish (since 1981) and European (since 1986) funds including INCO projects.
