DOCTOR DEGREE: Ph.D. 2002 Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation, University of Portsmouth, UK. Thesis: Aspects of gravitation in Astrophysics: from accretion disks to Quantum Astronomy. Supervisor Prof. B. Bassett. Mayors: Astronomy, Astrophysics, Applied Mathematics, Physics of Quantum Information.
MAIN WORK AREA: Quantum Mechanics, General Relativity and Astrophysics of compact objects. He also worked in projects of Quantum Communication to Space and Quantum Astronomy. He is currently working on the theoretical aspects and applications of the Photon Orbital Angular Momentum in astronomy, plasmonics and in telecommunications. More than 50 scientific contributions including one book and a book chapter. Hundreds of interviews in scientific and non- scientific magazines and newspapers. International and national TV Radio interviews regarding his scientific contributions. Teaching and co-supervision of more than 20 Licentiate degrees, M.Sc and Ph.D students. Active partecipation in 14 funding grants since 2002. Teacher in the international doctorate “Economics and Techniques for the conservation of the architectural and environmental heritage”, IAES, with the patronage of the General Direction of The Council of Europe. Three patents. Tenths of invited talks and conferences. Referee of international scientific journals and member of the editorial board of an international optics journal.Lecturer at the Celsius Symposium 2010 of the Celsius-Linnaeus lecture 2010, Uppsala, Sweden.

TITOLI ACCADEMICI: Laurea in astronomia con 110/110 e lode conseguita nel 1999 presso l’università di Padova. Specializzazione in teoria quantistica dei campi, cosmologia dell’universo primordiale e relatività generale.
M.Sc. (with Honours) conseguito nel 2000 presso l’Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation dell’università di Portsmouth, Gran Bretagna. Specializzazione in matematica applicata e fisica teorica.
DOTTORATO: Dottorato di ricerca conseguito nel 2002 presso l’Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation dell’università di Portsmouth, Gran Bretagna. Titolo della tesi: «Aspects of gravitation in Astrophysics: from accretion disks to Quantum Astronomy» («Aspetti gravitazionali in astrofisica: dai dischi di accrezione all’astronomia quantistica»). Relatore: professor Prof. B. Bassett. Specializzazione in astronomia, astrofisica, matematica applicata e fisica dell’informazione quantistica.
PRINCIPALI INTERESSI DI RICERCA: Meccanica quantistica, relatività generale e astrofisica degli oggetti compatti. Si è anche occupato di comunicazione quantistica nello spazio e astronomia quantistica. Al momento studia gli aspetti teorici e le applicazioni del momento angolare orbitale dei fotoni in astronomia, in plasmonica e nelle telecomunicazioni.
Ha al suo attivo oltre 50 pubblicazioni scientifiche, tra cui un libro e un capitolo in un volume collettivo, e centinaia di interviste sui suoi contributi scientifici apparse su riviste e giornali scientifici e non, su canali radio e televisivi nazionali e internazionali.
È stato relatore e corelatore di oltre venti laureandi, specializzandi e dottorandi, e insegnante nel dottorato internazionale «Economics and Techniques for the conservation of the architectural and environmental heritage», organizzato dall’International Academy of Environmental Sciences (IAES) con il patrocinio della Direzione generale del Consiglio Europeo. Dal 2002 ha partecipato attivamente a 14 progetti di ricerca finanziati da grant, e ha al suo attivo tre brevetti e decine di seminari e conferenze invitati. È referee per riviste scientifiche internazionali e membro del comitato redazionale di una rivista internazionale di ottica.
Ha tenuto un seminario al Celsius Symposium tenutosi nel 2010 a Uppsala, in Svezia, legato alla Celsius-Linnaeus lecture.
POSIZIONE ACCADEMICA ATTUALE: Ricercatore al Civen e al Dipartimento di fisica e astronomia dell’università di Padova; studi sulle vorticità elettromagnetiche.
